Waterval Boven, also known as Emgwenya, is a charming small town perched on the edge of the Escarpment in Mpumalanga, South Africa. Its name, which means "above the waterfall" in Dutch, pays homage to its location near the stunning Elands Falls. Established in 1895 due to the construction of the Pretoria - Delagoa Bay railway line, Waterval Boven is the sister town of Waterval Onder. With a population of around 6,178 residents, this town offers a mix of cultures and languages, making it a unique and vibrant community nestled in a picturesque setting.
