The Forth Road Bridge is a suspension bridge in Scotland that connects Edinburgh to Fife over the Firth of Forth. It opened in 1964, replacing a centuries-old ferry service. At its peak, it carried 65,000 vehicles per day until it was closed for repairs and refurbishment. After reopening in 2018 as a dedicated Public Transport Corridor, only buses and taxis are allowed, while pedestrians and cyclists can still use it. In May 2023, the first driverless bus service in the UK started operating on the bridge.
