The Trough is a barony located in County Monaghan, Ireland. Known as An Triúcha in Irish, it covers an area of 151.26 km2 and is situated south of the Ulster Blackwater. Historically, the Mac Kenna clan were chiefs of Trough, with O'Clerkin also noted in the region. Some settlements within the barony include Emyvale and Glaslough. Overall, The Trough is a charming area with a rich history worth exploring.
