Sundhöllin is Reykjavik’s oldest swimming pool and an absolute must if you want a more local hot spring experience. 🏊‍♀️ Built in 1937, it’s got this charming, old-school vibe with Art Deco architecture, but it’s been renovated to include some fab modern outdoor hot tubs, a steam room, and a cold plunge pool.

It’s less touristy than the bigger spas like Blue Lagoon or Sky Lagoon, and it’s way cheaper too (around 1,200 ISK for entry). The outdoor rooftop pools are the best spot to soak while you watch the city go about its day — especially in the colder months when you’ve got that steamy hot water against the crisp Icelandic air. ❄️

Pro tip: Go in the evening for a relaxing soak after a day of sightseeing. It’s the perfect way to wind down and experience a bit of everyday Icelandic life.
