Ginkaku-ji, or the Silver Pavilion, is such a peaceful spot in Kyoto!

It’s not actually covered in silver like you’d expect, but that just adds to its charm.

The temple sits in this beautiful Zen garden with perfectly raked sand and moss-covered paths, it feels like stepping into a painting.

It’s way less crowded than Kinkaku-ji (the Golden Pavilion), so you can really take your time wandering around, soaking in the calm atmosphere.

The little hillside trail behind it gives you a gorgeous view of Kyoto, too!

Definitely worth a visit if you want a more serene, Zen-like experience.
