Golden temple in Kyoto

Message from Tamra Bow

Kinkakuji, or the Golden Pavilion, is one of Kyoto’s most stunning spots!

The temple is literally covered in gold leaf, and it shines so beautifully, especially when the sunlight hits it just right.

It’s definitely worth giving yourself 1-2 hours to wander through the gardens so you can catch a glimpse of the temple from all angles.

Don’t forget your goshuin book! There’s a red stamp here to commemorate your visit, which adds a nice touch to your travels.

The surrounding gardens are just as beautiful as the pavilion itself, making this spot a must-see on your Kyoto itinerary.
