If you’ve got a sweet tooth, you're going to want to pop into Demachi Futaba in Kyoto.

Their famous mame-mochi (bean rice cakes) are so soft, they’re often compared to a baby’s cheeks, yep, that pillowy!

Stuffed with chunky, lightly salted red beans, they hit the perfect balance of sweet and savory.

Depending on the season, you might also find kuri-mochi(chestnut mochi) in autumn or sakura-mochi in spring.

Tucked near Masugata shopping arcade and Shimogamo Shrine, this little shop is a must-stop for anyone looking to snack like a local!
