Message from Kyle and Heather Ellison

From the island of Andoya we drove straight to this museum so we could make it before the 5pm closing.

You'll want to give yourselves at LEAST two hours though, to properly experience all there is to see at this (admittedly touristy, but still really interesting), Viking museum on the drive to Lofoten.

Lofotr Viking Museum offers a unique journey back to the Viking Age, where visitors can explore a reconstructed longhouse and experience Viking life firsthand. From axe throwing, to bows and arrows, to sailing on a Viking ship, the museum provides an interactive and immersive experience with plenty of activities for all ages of visitors.

Important Note: The walk from the longhouse and museum section to the viking ship, axe throwing, and activities portion is over a half mile long. You'll want to spend at least an hour at the activities area of the museum, but plan for a 15+ minute walk up and down a long hill in order to get there.

We literally ran all the way to the ship and made it there right before the last sailing!
