The Palazzo di Giustizia di Bruxelles is an impressive neoclassical courthouse located in central Brussels. Designed by the famous architect Joseph Poelaert, it was erected between 1866 and 1883 and boasts an incredible size of 26,000 m2. Its many tenants include the Court of Cassation (Belgian Supreme Court), the Court of Assizes (highest criminal court) and the Bar Association of Brussels. The edifice stands proud on the Place Poelaert/Poelaertplein, a popular landmark serviced by multiple public transit lines. The Palace of Justice remains an iconic symbol of the justice system in Belgium, a testament to its fascinating history and intricate architecture.
