Message from Graziano e Federica

The Bibi-Khanym Mosque in Samarkand, Uzbekistan was built by the Mongol leader Timur for his wife between 1399 and 1405. Although much of the mosque was destroyed in an earthquake in the 19th century, it has been reconstructed and stands as a beautiful example of Muslim medieval architecture. Visitors can explore the courtyard with its monumental dome and stone pedestal for the Quran, and even hear local legends about fertility if they crawl under the stand. Just remember to dress modestly and show respect when visiting this historic site!
