Hike
Hike
1-2h
**This trail is on private land. It is only open Monday through Friday between 7AM to 4PM, and is closed on weekends. **
To get to the trail, you can park on the roadside near the trailhead, located off Owls Head Lane. However, it's important to avoid parking directly at the trailhead as it is part of a private driveway.
Should you find the parking area full, please choose a different hiking path (like one of these short Adirondack hikes!). This ensures that the Owls Head Trail will stay open to the public and minimize any inconvenience to the local community.
The trail itself starts off a private driveway, with ample signage about the private property. The trail heads upward almost immediately, with a challenging rock scramble located about halfway up the mountain, a second scramble about 0.44 miles in, and a third at about 0.6 miles.
At the top you'll have a panoramic 180-degree view of the surrounding mountains. On a clear day, you can catch a view of Sentinel Mountain.
