Il Sicomoro is one of the best restaurants in the Lunigiana. By best, I mean it has local, kilometer zero sourced ingredients that become fine examples of the local cuisine under the deft hands of the chef and her staff. Even when you think the food has turned in a radical direction, as in the Ravanelli Arrostiti con le foglie, or roast radishes with their leaves (made into pesto), you also recall the elements of cucina povera, forage and waste nothing!
This is the only restaurant in Italy in which I'll eat lasagne. After all, it's one of those dishes that's often made in advance and warmed for you. Il Sicomoro's version is sublime. If you've ever heard a reviewer talk about "silky" noodles, this dish defines that term, believe me.
The menu expands for that Lunigiana tradition of Sunday Lunch, the best time to go.
But that's not all, Il Sicomoro is also a highly-rated place to stay. It's a bike hotel, so once you've parked there, you don't need the car any more. Click the "book" button to find out more.
