Bow Lake is one of my favourite ceremony locations for couple’s eloping with family. With its crystal-clear waters reflecting the surrounding peaks, this hidden gem provides a stunning backdrop for exchanging vows. Ideal for couples seeking an accessible location away from the crowds. Located along the Icefields Parkway, it's slightly off the beaten path compared to more popular spots in Banff, ensuring a more intimate experience. Yet, its accessibility makes it convenient for couples looking to escape into nature without straying too far from civilization. Plus the Bow Lake Lodge just recently reopened and also has a cute little coffee shop you can visit.

The parking lot does fill up quickly with hikers and visitors. We are able to walk about 15 minutes around the lake to find a more private spot along the shore. There are some nice spots along the rocky shore, some spots more hidden in the trees along the creek with bushes, lots of cute little wooden bridges, and an open field with trails through the bushes that have beautiful fireweed in late August and turns bright orange during the fall. Plus there are plenty of hikes nearby for you and your partner to explore on your own either before or after your ceremony.

There are no boat rentals here but it's a great lake to bring your own canoe or paddle board to get out on the water.
