Zelenci Nature Reserve is a hidden gem tucked away in the far northwestern corner of Slovenia, near the borders of Austria and Italy. This place is super special and it is really worth a stop!
Zelenci is actually the spring of the river Sava Dolinka. It is a thermal spring, which means it doesn't freeze even during the winter. You can visit Zelenci any time of the year because of that.
There is parking onsite and a small hut that serves coffee and food. You can also visit Zelenci with a bike from Kranjska Gora because this region is nicely connected through bike lanes.
