Geysir is an active geothermal area in south-west Iceland and a world-renowned destination. It is home to many hot springs, geysers, mud pools, and fumaroles, and is a popular tourist attraction due to its sheer beauty and natural wonders. Geysir is situated along the Golden Circle sightseeing route and is just two hours drive away from Reykjavik. Its volcanic activity is highlighted by the famous Strokkur geyser, which jets boiling water from 20-40 metres (65-130 feet) every 5-10 minutes. Visitors can take a walk through the surrounding Haukadalur valley, enjoy a dip in the preserved hot spring pool Kúalaug, or explore The Tree Museum within its rich forestry. This unique area makes for a truly unforgettable experience with something to suit everyone.
