Cascata das Lombadas is an impressive waterfall located in the Lombadas Valley on São Miguel Island in the Azores. Standing about 60 meters tall, it’s surrounded by lush vegetation, creating a stunning, secluded landscape.

Origin of the Name:

The name “Lombadas” comes from the valley in which it’s located, with “lombadas” meaning “hills” or “elevations” in Portuguese, reflecting the area’s terrain.

Hiking to the Waterfall:

The trail to Cascata das Lombadas is suitable for experienced hikers, as it involves navigating through dense vegetation and sometimes slippery paths. Proper footwear and caution on wet days are advised.
