The Miradouro do Salto da Farinha viewpoint on São Miguel Island in the Azores offers captivating views of a 40-meter waterfall and the lush, green coastline along the Atlantic. The name “Salto da Farinha,” which translates to “Flour Waterfall,” is rooted in the historical cereal mills once located nearby. From the viewpoint, visitors can observe both the waterfall and expansive ocean views, making it a scenic highlight in the Nordeste region of the island.

From the marked viewpoint, the waterfall is visible only from a distance. For a closer look, you’ll need to descend into the Queda de Água do Salto da Farinha park and walk along the trail. This pathway provides access to the base of the waterfall, where you can experience its full beauty up close, along with the surrounding lush greenery and peaceful park atmosphere.

Park is equipped with picnic areas, barbecue grills, and restrooms, making it ideal for a relaxed visit and a meal in nature.

Early morning or late afternoon visits are recommended for softer light and fewer visitors, allowing for peaceful exploration and photography opportunities
