Ride this epic zip at the top of the Grindelwald First mountain. Up to four persons can fly together, each securely held in the stable harness. You soar up to 50 metres above the alpine meadows along a 800 metre long steel cable at a top speed of 84 km/h.

Requirements: body weight between 35 to 125kg (77 to 275lb)

Opening times

The First Flyer is open from mid December through mid October.

During this season, it's open daily from 9.00 - 16.45, first come first served. On busy days, we recommend arriving by at least 9:00 to get in line.

How to get there

To reach the First Flyer ride, you ride a gondola from the Grindelwald village. The First gondola is located at Dorfstrasse 187, 3818 Grindelwald,

From the Grindelwald train station (not Grindelwald Terminal), its a 10 mins walk through the village. Or you can ride bus 123 to the Grindelwald, Firstbahn stop.

Ride the gondola 25 mins up to the mountain, getting off at the last stop called "First." The First Flyer line is next to the First gondola station.

Tickets

You pay a fee to ride the gondola and an extra fee to do the First Flyer. You should buy your First Flyer tickets online at least one day in advance. They do sell out.

You cannot reserve a particular time slot. It's first come, first served.

For the gondola, you can also buy those tickets online, as well as onsite at machines and ticket office. The gondola is free with the Jungfrau Travel Pass and Bernese Oberland Pass. Discounted with Swiss Travel Pass, Swiss Half Card and GA.

They offer an Adventure Package, which includes the gondola ticket and 1 or 2 of the amusements (First Flyer, First Glider, Go-Carts, or Trotti scooters). If you want to do more than 2 amusements, you can purchase them separately.
