This scenic drive is a loop through the beautiful Emmental countryside in the center of Switzerland. I have versions starting in Bern or Lucerne.

Driving time is 2-3 hours depending on where you start. Plan for 4-6 hours with stops along the way.

How to get there

From Lucerne

Drive first to Kambly in Trubsachen, then Langnau im Emmental, then Emmental Show Dairy. To get back to Lucerne, continue the loop via Huttwil and Wolhusen.

From Bern

Drive first to the Emmental Show Dairy in Affoltern im Emmental. Then continue to Langnau im Emmental and Kambly in Trubsachen.

For a short loop, drive back to Bern via Signau. About 2h driving time. See route.

For a longer loop through the countryside, continue the loop via Entlebuch, Wolhusen and Huttwil, eventually looping back to Bern. About 3h driving time. See route.

Bus tour alternative
