Falling 600 meters down into the valley, the Engstligen waterfalls are a first-class natural phenomenon. As the second-highest waterfalls in Switzerland, they have been under the protection of the Cantonal Nature Conservator since 1948. The waterfalls can be reached from the village of Adelboden by bus or on foot within an hour and a half walk. In summer a mountain hike leads from Unter dem Birg along the roaring waterfalls to Engstligenalp. This water spectacle in summer can be enjoyed as an easy circular hike or year-round from a floating gondola lift. The Chäligang climbing wall, right next to the mighty waterfall, is popular with young and old because of its low difficulty level. The water power released by the waterfall makes this place a true source of energy.
