Gelmersee is a spectacular reservoir situated in the Bernese Oberland. This beautiful lake sits at the top of Grimsel Pass and is easily reachable by the Gelmerbahn funicular from Handegg or Guttannen, at an elevation of 1412 m. You can enjoy its crystal-clear waters while exploring the serene mountain terrain which surrounds it. If you decide to hike up, it starts in Handegg, around 5km, 2h in average, 500m elevation gain (mostly at the end of the hike where you can expect a lot of stairs).
