One of the epic crater lakes of the highlands of Iceland. As you're driving the F208 in the highlands, you make the turn at F225 to the east (Google Maps has it Froad Ljótpollur). Keep driving until you reach the spot.

  • What it is: An epic lake in the highlands of Iceland.

  • Best season: Summer.

  • Best time of day: Any (but sunrise and sunset for the best light).

  • Nice to know: You'll need a capable 4x4 to reach this spot. To get an overview like in the image you need a drone.
