The Secret Lagoon was actually one of the first places I went to on my very first trip to Iceland, and it still sticks with me as one of the best. 🛁 It’s one of Iceland’s oldest geothermal pools, and compared to the more touristy hot springs, it feels like a proper hidden gem. Located in the village of FlĂșĂ°ir, about 90 minutes from Reykjavik, it’s this natural, rustic hot spring that’s way more authentic than spots like the Blue Lagoon.

The pool’s been around since 1891, and it’s surrounded by bubbling hot springs, steaming vents, and even a tiny erupting geyser that goes off every few minutes. 💩 The water is the perfect 38-40°C year-round, and it’s rich in minerals, so it’s the best for a long, relaxing soak — especially after a day exploring the Golden Circle.

I remember loving how back-to-basics it felt. No over-the-top spa vibes, just nature doing its thing. You bring your towel, chill in the steamy water, and take in the stunning Icelandic landscape around you. It really feels like you’ve found a secret spot, and honestly, I’d go back in a heartbeat. ✹
