Nabhapolbhumisiri is an impressive architectural marvel located at the highest point in Thailand. It is 12-sided and has two levels of terraces for Buddhists and visitors alike to enjoy both spiritually and aesthetically. It was constructed to honor Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, who is 5 years younger than His Majesty The King Bhumibol. Inside is a grand hall with intricate images of royal duties created from glass mosaic and white jade stone. It was finished in 900 days for a total of 135 million Baht, of which 48 million was sponsored by the government and 87 million donated by faithful people including Queen Sirikit's personal fund. Its design was constructed based on Buddhist concepts such as 37 Bodhipakkhiya dhamma and 12 intellectuals from Buddha's mother. This incredible monument serves as a seat of commemoration and loyalty towards the Kingdom's beloved rulers.
