ThamLod is a cave system with a length of 1.666 meters. Geologic formations sprouting from the floor and ceiling, and forming columns where stalactites and stalagmites grew together. Tham Lod Cave is a natural limestone cave system, its main feature is t h e freshwater stream which runs through the middle of the cave for about 200-300 meters. Inside its walls are covered with massive formations and columns over 20 meters high. The cave is also home to large numbers of bats and swifts. The most amazing thing about this experience is that you enter one side of the mountain cave by bamboo rafts and you emerge out of the cave system on the other side of the mountain! To enter the cave, you must hire a guide (150THB) with a lamp torch, they will show you the way throughout the 3 caves. Cave 1 takes you from the entrance to the bamboo raft. Cave 2 is optional and you'll need to climb a lot of stairs to see incredible geologic formations, then back to the raft. Cave 3 is accessible by raft (400 THB return) and takes you to the exit with the most famous photo to take here. Bring your tripod as you'll need it here for low light photos, but travel light as there are a lot of stairs to climb. Total visit should b e around 3-4 hours depending on the time to take photos everywhere.
