Message from Hello Emilie

Lake Argyle is a magical place located in the East Kimberley region of Western Australia. Part of the Ord River Irrigation Scheme, this freshwater reservoir is the second largest man-made lake in Australia and the blue sky reflection on its surface will take your breath away! The lake is home to various species of native fish and even over 25,000 freshwater crocodiles. Visitors can spot the many waterbirds and waders that call Lake Argyle their home as they explore the surrounding mudflats and grasslands. Take a look at the 335 metre long Ord River Dam, which was built in 1971, or enjoy a cruise on the lake to really experience the majestic beauty of this magnificent destination.
