The SnowCastle of Kemi is a fun visit for families with children. Every year they build a new ice fortress from the ground. Inside you can find beautiful sculptures, slides and icy furniture. Keep in mind that there needs to be enough snow to build it, so it's not guaranteed that the castle will be there every winter. Always check it on their website before you plan to visit.
If there's not enough ice, you can still do some fun activities; like playing games in the snow garden, slide downhill on the tubing tracks or simply have a nice buffet lunch with a beautiful view over the Baltic Sea. You can even go on a snowmobile adventure and spend the night in one of their luxury glass cabins.
A lot of people combine a visit to the SnowCastle of Kemi, with an icebreaker cruise over the Baltic Sea, since this is also the starting point. Hop on the famous Sampo Arctic Icebreaker, step on the frozen sea and experience ice floating in a survival suit. It's one of the most unique things to do in all of Finland!
