Sightseeing
Santa Claus Village, located in Rovaniemi, is where the magic of Christmas comes to life every day of the year. Visitors can meet Santa Claus, cross the magical Arctic Circle, greet the reindeers and experience the wonder of the Northern Lights at this enchanting place. With activities for all ages and a cozy atmosphere, Santa Claus Village offers a unique and unforgettable experience for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the spirit of Christmas.
After numerous visits (during all seasons), it's save to say that I LOVE this place. I think that Santa has seen me more times than he would like to, but as a big Christmas lover, I think this magical place is a must-visit when you are in Finnish Lapland. It's also a great place for buying souvenirs and you can send postcard to your loved ones from the official Santa Claus Post Office. If you want, they can store them and deliver them right before Christmas!
The entrance to Santa Claus Village is free, but you do pay for optional activities like: riding on a reindeer sledge (feeding them in summer), a husky ride or snowmobile tour. Also keep in mind that the meet-and-greet with Santa is free, but you must pay for optional pictures and videos. To be honest, there are better (and cheaper) places in the area to do all these winter activities, but since the park is free to enter, paying for a memorable picture with the REAL Santa Claus, seems like a reasonable deal :)
