South Sands Beach in Salcombe, Devon is a beautiful beach with soft, golden sand and is the perfect spot to relax and go for a sea swim. The water is crystal clear and gets deeper very gradually so it’s ideal for families.
It’s also one of my favourite places to paddle board from and watch the sunrise. Plus, there's a passenger ferry that shuttles between the beach and Salcombe, so you can easily explore the area.
The beach has dog restrictions from May - October. It also doesn’t have a dedicated car park. You can either park at National Trust Overbeck’s car park and walk down, or if you’re visiting Harbour Beach Club opposite for lunch, you can park in the hotel car park.
