Ægissíðufoss is a waterfall located in the south of Iceland. It is situated close to Hella along the south coast of Iceland. There the river Ytrí-Rangá is falling 3 meters down on it’s way to the atlantic ocean. It is especially known for the salmon stock which makes it a popular location for fisher men. I personally enjoy this pretty waterfall as its surroundings are stunning. On a good day you can take a look on two active volcanoes: Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull. This makes this place even more worth to take a look at.

In order to approach the waterfall you have to drive on road 25 shortly before reaching Hella coming from Selfoss. In approx. 2,5 km distance you will see the sign leading to Ægissíðufoss waterfall.
