Urriðafoss waterfall is located along the river Þjórsá which is with 230km the longest river in Iceland.

The waterfall is easy to reach as it is located directly beside the Ring Road. The walking path was just renewed. Therefore, it is very easy to walk around and look at the waterfall from many different directions.

The name “Urriðafoss” comes from the Icelandic word for trout which is ”Urriða”. Þjósá is a very popular place for fishing as it is possible to catch many different types of fish like salmon and of course trout.
