A serene (but chilly!) swimming hole with a waterfall a very short walk from the carpark. This waterfall is on the Coromandels 309 dirt road. Bring reef shoes and walk down the river for more secluded swimming spots, avoid the eels ;)

Further information: Waiau Falls, located on the 309 dirt road that divides the Coromandel is an exciting natural destination. This 500 metre walk offers a chance to enjoy popular swimming holes and take in the stunning surrounding native bush. Visitors can explore Kauri Grove Lookout Walk for spectacular views of the most accessible and mature kauri stand on the Peninsula. Along the path, be sure to check out the ‘siamese’ kauri, connected just above the ground!
