This is a great hike or mountain bike ride in the Summer and also a beautiful snowshoe hike in the winter. The views of Donner Lake and Castle Peak are stunning.

LOCALS TIP: this is a VERY popular trailhead and parking is very limited so go early and go on a weekday if possible.

The Glacier Way Access Trail in Tahoe Donner is one of the easiest ways to access the beautiful Donner Lake Rim Trail. This dirt road connects hikers and bikers from the Tahoe Donner/Glacier Way Trailhead Parking Area to the trails located on glorious DLRT. The trail provides a gentle incline from the parking area to the main trail for those that are looking to start their adventure! With scenic views, fun trail features, and fresh air, the Glacier Way Access Trail is a great option for outdoor recreation.
