Just a short distance from Helliwell Provincial Park, you’ll find Tribune Bay, one of the most popular spots on Hornby Island. The bay is well-known for its shallow, sandy shoreline and surprisingly warm water, making it a favourite for swimming.

If you’re up for some exploring, head west of the bay, where several small cliffs lead toward Spray Point. The easiest access is at low tide, but you can also reach it from the other side via Little Tribune Bay Beach—which, fair warning, is a nude beach. Spray Point isn’t a huge area, but the rock formations and patterns are worth spending time with, especially if you enjoy looking for details and abstract compositions.

Once you’ve wrapped up a solid photography session, there’s no better way to finish than by cooling off with a dip in the ocean.
