Edinburgh Castle is a historical landmark located in Edinburgh, Scotland. The castle dates back to the 11th century and was a royal residence up until 1633. Throughout its history, the castle has served many purposes such as an arsenal, a prison, a treasury, and the home of the Honours of Scotland. In modern times it's become a major tourist attraction and is one of Scotland’s most renowned landmarks. Onsite, visitors can explore St Margaret’s Chapel, Mons Meg, Half Moon Battery and David’s Tower, among other attractions. Visitors can also view the iconic One O' Clock Gun each day at 1 pm as well as take part in a spectacular military tattoo during the Edinburgh Festival. Edinburgh Castle truly offers something for everyone and is fun for all ages.
