Norwick Beach, located in the north of Unst, is a picturesque spot that's popular with photographers and artists. The whitewashed croft house on the shoreline adds to its charm, along with the mix of sand, pebbles, and wild flowers. One cool feature is 'the Taing', a narrow tidal island that geologists find fascinating because it marks an ophiolite - a collision of Earth's crust from beneath the ocean with an ancient continent over 420 million years ago. Plus, there's a shifting burn that keeps things interesting. It's a great place to soak up some natural beauty and maybe learn a thing or two about geology!
