There were a lot of students on school trips, otherwise this park is a perfect spot for picnics.

Ocean view with perfectly maintained grass and lots of interesting sculptures.

I think it's best to visit as a family or on a date.

About:

Sun Messe Nichinan in Japan is a quirky park featuring seven moai statues, which are replicas of the famous Easter Island figures. These statues not only represent blessings like good health and love but also pay homage to seven legendary Easter Island explorers. Visitors can enjoy ocean views, explore gardens, and even pick up some moai-themed souvenirs at the gift shop. It's a fun and unique spot to visit for a taste of Polynesian culture in Japan.

Hours: 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Closed on Wed)

Access: Bus: It is approx. 60 minutes by bus heading to Nichinan from Miyako City. Get off at Sunmesse Nichinan. It is then approx. 15 minutes on foot.
