The Mt. Ohira Hiking Course is a scenic 7-km route that connects Mt. Ishiwari, Mt. Hirao, Mt. Ohira, Mt. Iimori, and Mt. Nagaike, offering fantastic views of Mt. Fuji and Lake Yamanaka. The trail begins at Mt.Ishiwari Entrance and takes approximately 4 hours to complete.

Access:
By Car: Park at Mt. Ishiwari Entrance. You can take the Fujikko-Go bus or a taxi back to the parking lot.
By Public Transport: Take the Fujikko-Go bus, a short walk from the trailhead.

Mt. Ishiwari Entrance (Starting Point):
The trail begins here with a gradual incline.

Mt. Ohira (Approx. 35 minutes from Mt. Hirao):
The main highlight of the trail, with panoramic views of Mt. Fuji and Lake Yamanaka.
Ideal for photography and a short break to take in the scenery.
Ridge Walk to Mt. Iimori and Mt. Nagaike (Approx. 40 minutes):
A scenic stretch with multiple viewpoints of Mt. Fuji and serene forest paths.
Yamanakako Lakeside (Ending Point):
The trail ends here, offering peaceful lakeside views.
General Information:
The trail is well-marked, but it can get steep in sections, especially near Mt. Ohira. It’s recommended to wear proper hiking shoes and bring water. Seasonal flowers and changing foliage make this course enjoyable year-round, but it’s especially beautiful during spring and autumn.
This hike is perfect for those who want a mix of peaceful forest trails, incredible views, and a rewarding end at Yamanakako Lakeside. For convenience, the Fujikko-Go bus connects the end of the trail back to the starting point.
