This is one of the most scenic lake in the winter and one of the most activity friendly lake in the summer. You can swim to an island in the middle of the lake with a shrine!

Known for its year-round natural beauty, the lake offers a wide range of activities, from water sports in summer to snow-filled adventures in winter.

Summer Activities (June–October):

  • Water Sports: Enjoy kayaking, paddleboarding, and wakeboarding on the calm lake waters.

  • Swimming: Designated swimming areas with crystal-clear water make it perfect for cooling off.

  • Fishing: Nojiri Lake is home to Japanese pond smelt (wakasagi) and bass, attracting fishing enthusiasts.

  • Cycling and Hiking: Explore trails around the lake, offering scenic views and access to nearby forests.

  • Sightseeing Cruises: Relax on a boat tour to learn about the lake’s history and enjoy panoramic views.

  • Camping: Stay at one of the lakeside campgrounds and enjoy starry nights by the water.

Winter Activities (December–March):

  • Ice Fishing: Enjoy fishing for wakasagi (Japanese pond smelt) in specially designed fishing huts on the frozen lake.

  • Snowshoeing: Explore the snowy trails around the lake for a peaceful winter hiking experience.

  • Skiing and Snowboarding: Nearby ski resorts, like Madarao Kogen and Myoko Kogen, provide excellent slopes for all levels.
