Hitsujiya is super popular with the locals — especially after work or on weekends. They use a custom-made grill shaped like Hokkaido.
They serve several cuts of fresh lamb, including some rare ones you won’t find easily elsewhere — like lamb tongue with salt, which is surprisingly tender and full of flavor. Their most popular dish is the Hitsujiya Original Jingisukan.

Access: About 7 minutes on foot from JR Asahikawa Station From the station, walk straight down the shopping street, turn left between 3rd and 4th Street, and you’ll find it on your left after crossing one intersection. Look for the big sheep illustration on the sign.
