While the mountain can be reached by hiking, there is also a scenic ropeway which operates every five minutes and offers direct views of the stunning landscape below. At the summit, visitors can find an observation restaurant, resting area, telescopes, a souvenir shop, and even games for children. Historical displays on the mountain’s stone-cutting history are also available.
On the opposite side of the mountain lies Nihon-ji Temple, home to Japan’s largest Buddha statue, the 1,500 Rakan statues, and numerous hiking paths. It takes about 1.5 hours to explore the temple grounds and trails from the top station.
Ropeway Fare: One way ¥650 / Round trip ¥1,200
Operating Hours:
Winter (Nov 16 - Feb 15): 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
