Enoshima is a vibrant island with plenty to offer, and I’ve been here multiple times with friends and even on dates. It's a local favorite, particularly for couples, thanks to its romantic scenery and fun activities. Here are my top 5 things to do on Enoshima:

  1. Explore Enoshima Shrine – This historical shrine, dedicated to the goddess of fortune, is a peaceful and spiritual stop. It's a beautiful spot to take in the island’s views as you climb the stairs towards it, absorbing both the culture and natural beauty.

  2. Try the local seafood – Enoshima is known for its fresh seafood, especially shirasu (whitebait). There are plenty of beachside restaurants where you can indulge in seafood bowls while enjoying the sea breeze—a must-try when you're on the island.

  3. Walk through the Enoshima Iwaya Caves – These naturally carved caves offer a fascinating glimpse into the island’s geological history. Venturing through the caves feels like a mini adventure, and the views of the ocean from here are spectacular.

  4. Explore the shopping street – On your way up to Enoshima Shrine, you’ll pass through a quaint shopping street on the mountaintop. This area is full of local vendors offering unique souvenirs, snacks, and traditional items—a perfect place to grab a memento of your visit.

  5. Relax at Enoshima Spa (Enospa) – This onsen (hot spring) provides stunning views of the ocean, making it the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring. You can also enter with swimsuit so it's an ideal spot whether you’re on a romantic getaway or just relaxing with friends.
