Since 2018, there is a fee to pay to the municipality for the Vero Walkways route, and it is necessary to reserve a time slot: http://pasarelasdealquezar.com/es_ES/ 💸🕒

It is a hike 3km long with a positive elevation gain of 180 meters. We will encounter areas of uneven terrain and sections of walkways located in an idyllic environment that encapsulates the landscape, cultural, and environmental essence of the Natural Park of Sierra and the Canyons of Guara. 🏞️🥾

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS:

1- START:

The hike begins near Rafael Ayerbe Square (formerly Main Square), right next to the Town Hall of the Village, where you will find someone who will inform you about how to obtain your ticket and provide information about the route. 🏛️🎟️

2- FIRST SECTION. DESCENT TO THE VERO RIVER THROUGH THE FUENTE RAVINE:

Descend from Alquézar to the Vero River through the lush Fuente Ravine. This descent is the most technical part of the route due to a constant elevation gain of 180 meters and uneven terrain. Some sections will be equipped with wooden walkways. Pay close attention on rainy days or just after them, as the terrain becomes much more slippery and there is a possibility of water running along the path. 🌧️🌊

3- SECOND SECTION. IN THE VERO RIVER.

In this section, we will find areas of dirt and stone trails and four elevated walkways. The first three aerial sections of walkways have a length of between 50 and 100 meters and a height of between 5 and 10 meters. The last aerial section of walkways is 200 meters long and has a height of between 20 and 25 meters. This last walkway is not mandatory. An emergency exit is available, which you can see marked just before starting this section. 🚶‍♂️🌉

4. THIRD SECTION. RETURN TO ALQUÉZAR.

Along a track, and later a somewhat steep and rocky path, among almond trees, olive trees, and lush orchards, we return to Alquézar. It is a very hot climb in summer, so it is essential to carry water for it. The trail leads us to the parking lot located just below the Church of San Miguel. If we head towards it, we reach the fronton square. 🌳☀️
