Piazza Navona is a stunning public square in Rome, Italy that is perfect for exploring the vibrant city. It’s located on the site of the Stadium of Domitian, built in 1 A.D., and is full of captivating art, architecture and history. The square was remodeled during the Baroque era by Pope Innocent X who installed the world-famous Fountain of Four Rivers (Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi) topped with an Egyptian obelisk. Visitors can also find other spectacular monuments and sculptures, such as Fontana del Moro, Neptune fountain and Sant'Agnese in Agone church. Piazza Navona has been featured in several popular films, including American Assassin and The Talented Mr. Ripley. Take a walkthrough this lively square and you will be sure to experience the beauty of old-world charm meets modern-day culture.
I suggest you take some time here to look around and go through the little roads around Piazza Navona, as you will stroll among old workshops and vintage shops, leaving the crowds behind.
