Exploring the Svartisen Glacier is a fun and unique attraction in Norway. The glacier is the 2nd largest on mainland Norway, covering 370 km2. Visitors can take a shuttle boat across the Holands-fjord to explore the beautiful glaciers, lakes and valleys. There are several hiking trails of different lengths that offer great views of the glacier and stunning mountain scenery. One popular trail is the 18km path alongside Svartisvatnet lakes. Alternatively, visitors can admire Engenbreen, a glacier tongue viewable from Meløy municipality on the Coastal Road (Fv17). Whether by land or sea, visitors won't forget this exciting and awe-inspiring journey.
