When exploring the Irish Loop, consider the Spurwink Island Path from Aquaforte to Port Kirwan. Although it stretches 20km one-way, or you can opt for a shorter hike to the trail's main feature, the Berry Head Sea Arch, starting from Port Kirwan. This approach makes for a manageable yet rewarding hike.

You’ll start at the community center in Port Kirwan, where parking is available, and head up to the well-marked trailhead. The path initially offers stunning coastal views that transition into a lush forest setting as you continue inland.

The hike to the Berry Head Sea Arch is about 8km from this side, and it is truly a sight to behold. The arch is a natural wonder, towering majestically and sculpted by the relentless forces of nature. It's a fantastic photo opportunity and a great spot to take a break and soak in the rugged beauty of Newfoundland’s coastline.

Allow around 2 1/2 hours to hike each way. The trail is considered moderate, so it's suitable for those with some hiking experience looking for a day adventure.
