THIS is the view you've been waiting for!
But in order to see it, you'll need to find the trailhead, and figure out where to parl.
Rhere isn't much parking by the trailhead itself, so the easiest thing is to park by the boat harbor (where you need to pay a small fee). From here it's only a ten minute walk to get to the Hesten trailhead, and if you see a small wooden shelter at the trailhead, you know you're on the right trail.
The first half of the hike stats out easy enough—boardwalks, switchbacks, nothing too crazy—and it isn't until the rock scramble to the summit that it starts to get a little hairy.
If you're afraid of heights, maybe just stay in the saddle area and enjoy the views of Segla from there. If you're up for it, though, the view from the top is as legendary as it gets.
Hking with kids? Just keep them close by. They can totally tackle it (our 7 year old made it!), but it's definitely a strenuous, uphill hike, with a view that rewards all the effort.
