Orto Botanico di Roma is a 12-hectare urban park located in Rome, Italy. Established in 1883 as the successor to the Papal Botanical Gardens of the Renaissance period, the park houses over 3,000 species, including medicinal plants, a Japanese Garden, bamboo groves, and cactus greenhouses. Among the noteworthy specimens of trees and shrubs are Cedrus deodara, Dasylirion glaucophyllum and Dasylirion acrotrichum, Erythrina crista-galli, and Liquidambar orientalis. The garden offers an abundance of educational and recreational opportunities; from exploring nature’s beauty to participating in special events such as guided tours and workshops. There is something for everyone at Orto Botanico di Roma!
