The Colosseum, located in Rome, Italy is an ancient Roman amphitheatre that was built under the Emperor Vespasian between 71 and 80 AD. It is the most iconic symbol of ancient Rome and can seat up to 50-80,000 people at a time. Throughout its history, it has been used for a variety of purposes such as gladiatorial contests, public spectacles, animal hunts, mock naval battles, executions, and re-enactments of famous battles. Today, the Colosseum remains one of Rome's most popular tourist attractions. With its beautiful brick and marble architecture, it provides a glimpse into the distant past and invites us to marvel in the grandeur of Ancient Rome.
