The Orologio ad Acqua del Pincio is a unique outdoor clock in Rome. It has been running since January 2022, after being repaired from its many years of inoperability. This clock, created by Father Giovan Battista Embriaco, has a cast iron tower that resembles the tall trees of the park and clock faces made to look like tree trunks. In addition, the clock arms have plant-like shapes so as to blend in with its surroundings. Those who visit this clock are able to peek through the glass panels to get a glimpse of its fascinating inner workings, from the oscillation of the two leaf-shaped containers balancing on a central point to the effect of temperature on the speed of the clock. Its stunning location in the Borghese Gardens adds an extra layer to the charm of the clock, making it a must-see for all visitors to Rome.
